The Los Angeles Lawyers Trial Lawyers’ Charities
Our Firm's Commitment to the Greater Los Angeles Community
At The Law Offices of Gerald L. Marcus, our Calabasas personal injury lawyers are dedicated to assisting individuals and families who have had their lives derailed by an unexpected accident. For Founding Attorney Gerald L. Marcus, however, his commitment to assisting our Southern California community extends beyond our firm's case work. Attorney Marcus is Honorary Board of Governors member with the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers' Charities, an organization for which also serves on the Board of Directors and as its Treasurer.
What is LATLC?
The Los Angeles Trial Lawyers' Charities, or LATLC, was founded 10 years ago by seven greater Los Angeles attorneys who saw the opportunity to fight the major issues threatening the underserved of Southern California. From the LATLC website: "The primary purpose of LATLC is to make a positive difference in the quality of life for people within the greater Los Angeles area, focusing on issues related to education, children, survivors of abuse, persons with disabilities, and homelessness, by providing financial assistance to needy persons and groups in the greater Los Angeles area."
Now, as a non-profit, LATLC has a Board of Directors of 32 lawyers who have made bettering greater Los Angeles one of their top priorities. LATLC and its 2,500 supporters are comprised of trial attorneys from various practice areas and draw from prestigious organizations such as the California Employment Lawyers Association, the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, and others.
How LATLC Makes a Difference
LATLC partners with other charitable organizations and advocate groups throughout Los Angeles. The organization works with these partner charities to host and sponsor events, throw fundraisers, promote campaigns, and engage with other efforts to further their causes.
Just some of LATLC's partner charities include:
- Downtown Women's Center
- March of Dimes
- Stuart House - The Rape Foundation
- Westside Center for Independent Living
- Blind Children's Center
- South Central Scholars
- Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation
- Athletes vs. Cancer
- Los Angeles Mission
As a member of the Board of Directors and Treasure, Attorney Marcus plays a key role steering LATLC's attention and resources towards new organizations and causes. He hopes that you'll join him in his concern over issues facing the underserved of greater Los Angeles and consider doing something to make a positive impact.
